How does the voltage of a 14500 battery compare to that of a
« เมื่อ: 25/04/24, 22:48:35 »
The voltage of a 14500 battery compared to a typical AA battery is significantly different, and this difference is crucial to consider for the proper functioning and safety of battery-powered devices. Can I use 14500 instead of AA Battery?

14500 Battery:

Typically, a 14500 battery is a lithium-ion cell and has a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts, which can be fully charged up to about 4.2 volts.

AA Battery:

A standard AA battery, on the other hand, usually comes in two types:
Alkaline AA battery has a nominal voltage of 1.5 volts.

NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) rechargeable AA battery has a nominal voltage of around 1.2 volts.

Due to these voltage differences, a 14500 battery provides significantly higher voltage compared to either type of AA battery. This higher voltage can potentially damage devices designed for the lower voltage of standard AA batteries, as the electrical systems within these devices may not be able to handle the increased power, leading to overheating, malfunction, or even permanent damage. Therefore, it's important to ensure that any device you consider using with a 14500 battery is specifically rated to handle its higher voltage.
